1. Comprehensive Form:
This offers the best coverage available for your property and contents. It provides “all risks” coverage on the building and on the personal property. Of the 3 forms, this one has the least number of exclusions. While this form does have exclusions it is the best value for your dollar.

2. Broad Form:
Offers less coverage and more exclusions than Comprehensive. It includes all the coverage provided in the Basic form, as well as providing “all risks” coverage on the building.

3. Basic Form:
Provides very limited named perils (fire, vandalism) coverage and has many exclusions. It is strongly advised that you purchase one of the other homeowner forms available.

Many options exist to enhance your coverage. The most important of these are:
Sewer Back-Up:
This provides protection for losses resulting from the back up or escape of water from a sewer or drain, sump, septic tank, eaves trough or downspout. This coverage is relatively inexpensive and can prove to be invaluable in the event of a loss from one of the above perils.
Increased Liability:
For a nominal cost you can increase your home liability to $1,000,000 or $2,000,000. This also protects you for your accidental personal acts against someone (e.g. golfing).
Floaters:
All home policies have a Special Limits section that restricts coverage on items like jewelry, money and collectible items. You can buy additional coverage under floaters if needed. BACK TO TOP
